WOW!!! Our Thanksgiving food drive was a huge success. Last night, with the help of the community, our parishioners, Fr. Augustine, Knights of Columbus Council #17166 and the Women’s Guild, we made Thanksgiving dinner bags for the Weston Food Pantry, specifically for 75 Weston families in need.
We hoped for 25 bags. In the end we overstuffed 55 bags. Many bags can be divided again; we just ran out of bags. Additionally, we are able to donate 24 dozen of eggs and a crazy amount snacks to the food pantry. These are items that Anne Bigin, who volunteers & heads up the Weston Food Pantry, said are overlooked items. I was also given additional gift cards for Stop & Shop that I will give directly to the food pantry so they can buy whatever may be necessary.
Anne Bigin stopped by to express her sincere gratitude and spoke about the wonderful mission of the food pantry. Thank you Anne for all you and your team do!!!
My heart is filled with joy! A MILLION thanks to all who made this happen. You have made such a big impact in so many lives. It truly was wonderful to see all the donations and us coming together. If you are around this Wednesday, 11/19, at 4:45-5:30 PM, we need help dropping these bags off at the food pantry. Thank you and happy Thanksgiving.
